An AI presentation maker is easy to judge in its own preview and hard to judge in PowerPoint, which is where the interesting failures live: text over the edges, charts that turn out to be images, a slide size that isn't 16:9. So we generated 30 decks across nine categories, rendered every slide, and compared the rendered text against the box it was declared in.

What you can turn into a slide deck

An AI presentation maker is only as good as what you hand it. This one would rather work from material you already have than from a two-word topic, because everything it is not given it has to invent — and invention is the part you have to check.

A topic, or just a title

“Q3 sales review” is enough to get an outline and a full first draft to argue with.

A brief, or your rough notes

Paste the meeting notes, the email thread, the outline you already agreed. It keeps your points and your running order rather than substituting its own.

Numbers you need to present

Paste a table or a handful of figures. They come out as native PowerPoint charts with the worksheet behind them, not as pictures of charts.

Something you drafted with an AI

Prose out of ChatGPT or Claude makes a good input. It has already been argued; what it isn't is a file. Turning it into a PPT is the part this does.

What you get

Correct 16:9

13.33 × 7.5 inches, set explicitly. The common libraries default to 4:3 or to a 10-inch canvas, which is where black bars on a projector come from.

Text that fits its box

Every frame is measured and fitted before the file is written, so nothing spills off the slide.

Native editable charts

Real PowerPoint charts with an embedded worksheet. Right-click, Edit Data, change a number.

Fonts that render anywhere

Standard Office typefaces only. That narrows the type choices, and it means the deck can't reflow on someone else's laptop.

What you say out loud, written alongside the slide. 329 of the 330 benchmark slides had them — the model skipped one.

A typical deck uses 7 different layouts. 29 of 30 benchmark decks never ran the same one three slides in a row.

Where the file opens

An ordinary .pptx, so the list is the usual one. What we have tested ourselves and what we are inferring are marked separately below, because they are different things.

PowerPoint, Windows and Mac

The target. 13.33 × 7.5 inches, standard Office typefaces, and every layout decision measured against Calibri's own character widths — though the automated gate runs in LibreOffice, not in PowerPoint itself.

Google Slides

Upload it, or File → Import slides. It is an ordinary .pptx, so it opens and edits — though Google converts charts through its own importer, so check the figures there before you present from it.

Keynote

Opens and edits. Keynote re-renders type with its own engine, so check the line breaks if you present from it.

LibreOffice Impress

The one we actually test in. The QA gate renders decks through LibreOffice and measures the ink against every declared box.

Save as PDF from any of the above rather than from here — the handout and notes-page options are worth having.

Questions

Is the file a real PowerPoint?

Yes. It's a .pptx you can open in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides and edit like anything else. Charts are native PowerPoint chart objects with the worksheet attached, so right-click and Edit Data opens the data.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT to make a PowerPoint?

ChatGPT will write you slide text, or a Python script to build the file, or in some cases something that turns out to be a stack of images. What it does not reliably hand back is a .pptx with real text boxes, real chart objects and a correct slide size. That gap — from prose to a working file — is the entire job here. If you have already argued the thing out with an AI, paste that in and this does the file part.

Do I need an account?

No. You can describe a presentation, read the whole thing and download the file without creating one. What you type is sent to our server and on to the model, and the file is built on our server too — it has to be. What doesn't happen is storage: nothing is written to a database, the deck is held in your browser for the session, and closing the tab loses it. That's the trade-off for having no accounts.

Can I open it in Google Slides or Keynote?

It is an ordinary .pptx, so both will open it. Be aware that our measuring is done against PowerPoint's metrics and checked by rendering through LibreOffice — we do not test in Google Slides or Keynote, and both re-render type and charts through importers of their own. If you are presenting from one of them, open the deck there once and look at it first.

Why doesn't the text overflow?

Every text box is measured before the file is written. We wrap the text server-side against Carlito, which has the same character widths as Calibri, so in Latin scripts the line breaks we predict are the line breaks PowerPoint produces. If something is too long for its box we reduce the size within a narrow range, and past that we shorten or re-lay-out the slide rather than shrinking it into unreadability. Japanese and Hindi are fitted on an approximation instead — see the languages question below.

Will it make up statistics?

Sometimes, and we would rather tell you than not. The model is instructed never to invent a figure, a target or a benchmark, and never to chart data it wasn't given. That instruction is not enforced anywhere in the code, and it does get broken: in our 30-deck benchmark, 12 decks contained a chart even though the prompt they came from had no numbers in it at all. Asked for a deck about a subject rather than about your data, it will illustrate. Treat any figure you did not supply as a placeholder, and paste your own numbers in if you want the chart to be true. Enforcing this in code rather than in the prompt is the next thing being built.

What can I put in?

A topic, a brief, your notes, or pasted text and figures. PDF, Word and link uploads are the next thing being built.

Can I use my own template or brand colours?

Not yet. There are four themes today — they change the colours, not the typography, which is Calibri throughout so the file renders the same on any machine. There is no way to upload a .potx or set brand colours and a logo. It is the substantial piece of work after file upload, and it appears under Pro on the pricing page as a plan, not as something you can buy today.

Does it put images on the slides?

No. Generated or stock imagery that does not mean anything tends to make a deck worse, and it is the failure mode that is hardest to catch automatically. Charts, type and layout carry the slide instead. Add your own pictures in PowerPoint, where you can see what you are choosing.

How long does it take, and how many slides can I ask for?

Six to twenty slides. Median build time across the 30-deck benchmark was 15.4 seconds, the 90th percentile 49.5, and the slowest single deck 88.8. 24 of 30 decks came back at exactly the number requested; the rest were a slide or two out.

What languages can it write in?

English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, 日本語 and हिन्दी. Choose one before you generate and the whole deck is written in it, speaker notes included. One caveat worth knowing: the text-fitting is exact for Latin scripts, because it measures against the same character widths PowerPoint uses. Japanese and Hindi have no coverage in that font, so they are fitted on a full-width approximation and PowerPoint substitutes a font of its own. It fits, but it is an estimate rather than a prediction.

Is there a watermark?

Nothing is stamped on your slides and no slide is appended. The file's document properties do carry Presentation PPT as author and company, the way any authoring tool records itself; you can clear that in File → Info if you would rather it didn't.
